This course teaches divers and other interested parties to provide care for sudden cardiac arrest including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AEDs) while activating the local emergency medical services, (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. Serious hazardous marine life injuries are rare, but most divers experience minor discomfort from time to time. This course teaches divers to minimize injuries and reduce discomfort and pain. It also provides knowledge on specific types of injuries and the general first aid treatment for them and how to avoid hazardous marine life injuries.

DAN On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers
Learn how to conduct a neurological assessment on a potentially injured diver in this course. The information gained in this assessment can help convince a diver of the need for oxygen first aid, and help a dive physician determine the proper treatment.

DAN Dive Accident First Aid for Non-Divers This course specifically created for non-divers and is not appropriate for divers. However, it is appropriate for non-diving spouses, bubble watchers, boat captains and mates and anyone else, who may have to care for a diver with a dive injury. This program includes symptom recognition and the first aid skills to provide care. In complete DAN programs, divers also learn the affects these injuries have on their bodies and how to prevent them. This information is important for divers to help them be safer, but from a non-diver standpoint, this information is not as critical as responding to the immediate need. $89.00 (Course materials included; additional materials, fees and expenses may be required and are not included) Pre-requisites: CPR & Basic Life Support Skills must be completed satisfactorily.

DES is a recognition program which was created to recognize a commitment to dive safety. The DES designation is a way to commend divers who have sought out the training they need to be prepared buddies and safer divers through rescue training and dive specific first aid.
Pre-requisites: To earn this recognition, divers must hold current certifications in: - Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries (or equivalent)
Plus three of the following: - Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries (or equivalent) - First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries (or equivalent) - AEDs for Scuba Diving (or equivalent) - On-Site Neurological Assessment for Divers (or equivalent) - Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2)
If you have taken a Diving Emergency Management Provider class, it must have included Advanced O2 and that must be reflected on your certification card.
You must also hold: - a rescue-level certification or higher with your training agency; and current CPR and first aid
