DAN Instructors are scuba
diving educators who want to offer dive safety programs to their students.
To become a DAN Instructor, you must participate in a DAN Instructor
Qualification Course (IQC).
To be a DAN Instructor,
you must be a Dive Instructor with a recognized training agency
or a leadership-level diver (exp: Divemaster, Assistant
Instructor or DiveCon) with a recognized recreational scuba
training agency and a CPR/First Aid Instructor. To teach
AEDS, Oxygen for Aquatics and Advanced Oxygen) you will also
need to be a CPR Instructor.
You will also need to be
a DAN Member.
You will need to complete
the CORE Module exam at the end and present the certificate you
receive to your Trainer. Please print it out.
After completing the Core
Module, online, you will take the appropriate course modules for
the programs you are interested in teaching.
The IQC follows a
modular format. There is a Core Module and then a separate
module representing each training program. You can take
the Core Module and one course module - whatever you are
interested in teaching. Later, as long as you remain a
current and active DAN Instructor, you can take additional
modules without retaking the Core Module.
