Confined Water Diving Sessions: This is the fun part, THE DIVING! In our heated indoor pool, we will give you all of the skills you need to be a great diver. First we will start with the required 200 yd swim. This is done with any style or speed (we prefer slow, since our dive pool is heated to a toasty 90 degrees for your comfort) then we move to a 10 minute float in the 12 foot end of our pool. Next we are on to the equipment introductions and dive skills. The confined water skills are performance based so we move at your pace. Once skills are mastered we will continue until you are ready for Open Water Diving. The confined water diving is a required component of the course even if you take your academics on line with eLearning. We provide the use of BCD, regulators, tanks, and weights during the course.

We refer to your dive mask, snorkel, fins and boots as personal dive equipment. This is the equipment that will make your diving enjoyable, so fit is the key word here. There is really only one way to fit a mask or fins and that is underwater. Exclusively at Aquatic Realm Scuba Center we offer the “in water fit guarantee” on our dive equipment. We will encourage you to enroll in the personal equipment voucher program for $100.00 and purchase your dive boots ($35 – $50). During your confined water training we will provide you with the opportunity to try any of the mask, snorkels and fins we sell until you find the fit and price that works for you. Our instructors and dive masters are all trained in fit and design and can match the fin to your kick or the mask to your face. You will then make your purchase decision based on training and experience. At the end of the pool sessions you use your voucher to purchase your personal dive equipment from our extensive selection of colors and sizes. You have nothing to loose and end up with the “perfect” personal dive equipment for years and years of enjoyment. $100.00 |

Once you have completed your Academic or eLearning class, confined water diving and have purchased your personal dive equipment, you are ready for Open Water Diving. Now the fun begins, we will do 4 great dives over a 2 day period (weekend) at one of our local dive destinations May through October. You can also join us on one of our many dive trips to warm tropical locations and do your dives with us or if you already have a dive trip planned we will issue you a referral to take with you on your trip. Trips. These 4 dives will introduce you to the open water environment while you demonstrate some of the skills you learned in your confined water diving sessions. Since most of our students recognize the benefits of owning their own life support systems (BCD’s, Regulators and/or computers) and purchase them during their confined water diving sessions we separate the cost of renting them for the open water diving. The certification, training, tanks, weights and wetsuit rental fee is $200.00. Scheduled Local Weekend Dates: May 31st & June 1st June 14th & 15th July 26th & 27th August 30th & 31st September 13th & 14th September 27th & 28th October 11th & 12th |

Required Release Forms You must complete a medical statement before any inwater training. This information is confidential and, because it identifies medical conditions that may be affected by diving, it is vital that you are complete and accurate. If any of the conditions apply to you, you will need to consult with a physician and receive written clearance before any inwater training. If you require a physician’s approval for diving, you may print the medical statement (6 pages) complete it and take it to your physician for approval. Then bring all (6 pages) back to the dive center. You’ll also complete a liability release or acknowledgement form stating you understand the risks of diving and agree to assume those risks. In addition, you’ll also need to complete a PADI Standard Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding. This outlines safe dive practices and reminds you of your responsibility to follow them while diving. Click here for all release forms for the PADI Open Water Course. |
